Cebu: Kawasan Falls

It’s vacation time and Kawasan Falls is a perfect place to go.

Kawasan falls is about 2 hours away from Cebu City and several kilometres far from Bandian. Transportation is not a problem; you can either rent a van or take the bus. The length of the way was pretty good; you get to see the beautiful scenery of the coast and inhale the very clean air.

From the drop off point, you have to walk 15 minutes from the National Road.  If it’s your first time there, they have local guides to help you with your destination. Along the way, you have to pay Php10 for the entrance fee (per head).

As you reach the place, a strong breeze brought by the falls will welcome you. The water is really enticing because of its greenish-blue water. And it’s naturally cold. You can rent a cottage and a table for Php300. You can also ride a raft for Php300 per group. That is a 1 hour ride which you can actually divide, and will bring you under the falls. If you are not a good swimmer, a life vest can be rented too, for Php50.

If you are already fed up by the water, which I doubt, you can go and hike a different waterfall several minutes away from the first fall. Same services are offered in that spot.

A stay in Kawasan Falls is indeed fun! Sometimes it’s good to be away from  the city, even for a short time.  It’s worth the time and effort.
